And also Edward Ellice and John Bellingham Inglis both of London Merchants..."Conveyance for plantation Bon Esperance belonging to William Johnstone, against Johnstone's debt of £4,000, with about 35 slave names.Edward Ellice, merchant and politician, was the son of Alexander Ellice, managing director of the Hudson's Bay Company and founder of the firm of Inglis Ellice and Co. in Montreal. Edward Ellice managed the firm's London branch and was later connected with the Canadian competitors of the Hudson's Bay Company, the North West Company and the X. Y.
