Acct. to be sent Him with the Compy demd. for paymt. of his loss sustain'd upon his 1/4 part, accompanyed with an extrry. demd. for damages sustain'd by ye Compy thro' His Sd. Majeys. Violations of the treaty and--many groundless embarrasments by His Ministers in ye Indies. 2... If this scheme be approv'd... It sho'd be put in execution as submitted... 1. That an address be presented to His Maty. by the Cort. of Directors... thanking Him for the care he has taken by the preliminary Act to restore ye Assiento trade... 2. And that in some little time after, a pamphlet be published and--translated into French as wrote by a disappointed proprietor who had promoted ye trade under ye Contract in Q Ann's reign but is now rather for giving it up than trusting ye Spands..."Dealer states that this proposal appears to involve bribery by "The Company" of a favorite of the King of Spain, with subsequent publication in French of a pamphlet supposedly written by a failed proprietor detailing hardships resulting from breaches of the treaty.See Sperling, John G., The South Sea Company (Boston, 1962), pp. 20-24., Original digital object name: bei-m037
